I. Identification:

Shrub 2-4 m.

Flower:

The flower is a cream color. The flowers are spikes and originate at the axils of the leaves.

Fruit:

Immature light green, tricarpellate 0.4 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, with 3 cream colored seeds per fruit.

Leaves:

Simple alternate, lanceolate form and margins denticulate. Length of approximately 12-14 cm. Twisted petiole, flat on one side.

Brown bark, generally smooth covered with mosses and lichens.
